 Sensex and Nifty Rise on June 27 Amid Foreign Inflows and U.S. Market Rally




Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened higher on Friday, June 27, 2025, supported by fresh foreign fund inflows and a positive trend in the U.S. stock markets.

Continuing its upward momentum for the fourth straight session, the BSE Sensex rose 229.22 points to 83,985.09, while the NSE Nifty gained 73.5 points to reach 25,622.50 in early trade.

Among the top performers on the Sensex were Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, State Bank of India, Tata Motors, HCL Tech, and Bharat Electronics. On the flip side, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the laggards.

According to exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) pumped in ₹12,594.38 crore into Indian equities on Thursday, reflecting renewed investor confidence.

  • Japan's Nikkei 225 traded higher
  • South Korea's Kospi, Shanghai's SSE Composite, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were trading lower
  • U.S. markets closed on a positive note on Thursday

On Thursday, the Sensex had surged 1,000.36 points (1.21%) to settle at 83,755.87, while the Nifty jumped 304.25 points (1.21%) to end at 25,549.

Additionally, the RBI’s June Bulletin suggested that banks should lower lending rates for smoother policy transmission after a recent 50 basis point rate cut. The bulletin emphasized that financial conditions remain favorable for effective transmission.

Meanwhile, Brent crude oil rose by 0.49%, trading at $68.06 per barrel.
